As BWU we are committed and engaged in group formation and leadership skills training, Promotion of Sustainable agriculture and environment protection, Sensitization interventions on gender, health and safety, child protection, OVC Livelihoods for a progressive society, Vocational skills training, Promotion of savings and credit scheme in groups, Staff development for a balanced organisation, Homestead water, energy, and roads improvements, Model farm shop, health clinic/Pharmacy and hardware shop for services. Facilitation of lobbying and advocate for a better livelihoods and services. Research and consultation promotion for sustainable development.



BWU is registered with the National Non-Governmental Organizations Board (NGO Board); Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), National Supplier Database (NSD); National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) with Head office in Hoima.

BWU has a constitution, board, organizational and administrative structures. BWU has staff, volunteers and developed the Human resource management policy; Health safety and security policy; Financial management policy; Board of directors policy; Code of conduct; Gender policy; Conflict of interest policy; Procurement policy; Stores management policy; Savings and credit scheme policy; OVC policy; HIV/AIDS policy; Project development policy; Community Development policy; Anti-Corruption policy; and Gift Acceptance and Administration policy. BWU has 3 organizational bank accounts. BWU has formed membership workgroups and associations Hoima and Kikuube districts.


Programme/Project implementation

We have implemented and accomplished five (5) Road Safety Awareness Campaign projects sponsored By CNOOC Uganda Limited, Professional Defensive Driving Skills project sponsored by ENABEL (Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC), Skills Enhancement Training in Soil Conservation methods, Organic Manure Preparation and Animal Husbandry sponsored by Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU).

Instant training for women in Beads making jointly sponsored by Enabel Uganda and Better World Uganda. Vocational Skills Development in Hairdressing, Carpentry and Joinery,  Tailoring, Block Laying and Concrete Practice, welding and metal fabrication sponsored by CNOOC Uganda Limited. We have mainstreamed and facilitated Life skills, Business skills, Environment Management skills and Conflict Sensitivity skills (Do No Harm) in our programmes.
